Greca presents Evil Eye Thursday

EVIL EYE THURSDAY.001.jpeg

A night of futuristic Greek mixology featuring cocktails with Greek spirits and ingredients you have never heard of. Join us as we unveil the future of Greek mixology outside of Greece with infused tsipouro, Greek coffee extracts, smoking church incenses, and herbal syrups made with the finest of Greek teas.

Our Evil Eye Thursdays will be the culmination of what started 5 years ago as an Odyssey at The Greek in TriBeCa to create a unique identity for contemporary Greek mixology in NYC. We go beyond ouzo to explore the frontiers of tsipouro, zivania, tsikoudia, and mastiha to bring about our Greek gastronomical inventiveness in cocktails. Find out all the different ways your grandfather’s drink of choice can become a fancy and elaborate cocktail.

Our drinks will be reflecting the Athenian mixology scene, and DJ Dimitri Argyriou will be spinning on the decks electronica downtempo music giving the night a Mykonos vibe, giving a fresh spin to what Greek nightlife means in NYC. At our lounge area you will have the chance to have your Greek coffee grounds read by Natasha to add another layer of mysticism in your night.

The evil eye is a curse or legend believed to be cast by a malevolent glare, usually given to a person when they are unaware. Many cultures believe that receiving the evil eye will cause misfortune or injury. Talismans created to protect against the evil eye are also frequently called “evil eyes”.It was a widely extended belief among many Mediterranean and Asian tribes and cultures.
